Q: I don't own a hearse or hot rod.  Can I still come on the cruise?

A: YES, this is an OPEN Cruise to everyone.  It may say "Hearse, Hot Rod and Classic Car Cruise", but if you drive a rusted out Toyota Corolla or a brand new Chevy Silverado or for that matter, a motorcycle, you're more than welcome to be a part of the fun.  We understand not everyone has "toys" but enjoy getting out doing things special.  This is about meeting new people, making new friends, getting out seeing and doing things and having a GREAT time!

Q: Why is the cost $25.00?

A:  In order for the clubs to pay for things like plaques, awards and t-shirts, the registration fee is to help offset personal out-of-pocket expenses.  These clubs currently have NO membership dues.  Any money left over from this year's Cruise will be applied to the purchase of other memorabilia to be given away and to start setting up the Cruise for 2008.

Q: I’m not sure I can make the whole cruise, can I join or leave it at anytime?

A: The mileage on this Cruise from Joplin, Missouri to Elk City, Oklahoma is actually a 6 hour drive via I-44 West.  We’re making this a TWO DAY travel with several stops and will be following Route 66 the complete way.  You’re going to be free to come and go for as long or short as you like.  Currently, there will be no adjustments however in registration fees.

Q:  My gas gauge doesn’t work or I can’t run much gas in my tank.  I happen to breakdown along the Cruise.  What happens if we get separated?

A: Several members of the Cruise will be placed throughout the line of vehicles and will be available to assist other Cruisers who have problems or get separated along the way.  In the registration packets we will be mailing out around the 1st of September and on Thursday evening, there will be listings of the Cruise Coordinator’s cell phones in case of emergencies by any Cruiser.  We will also be providing detailed maps and directions of the Cruise Route.  We’re in the process of setting up one of the coaches as a “breakdown coach” and will have a vast array of tools and supplies available in case of a breakdown.

Q:  The registration fee is going for plaques and other items for the Cruise.  What are some of the awards to be given away?

A:  We’re currently compiling a list of plaques to be given away on Sunday morning at our final breakfast.  Some of the plaques that will be awarded are as follows:

Oldest Hearse or Professional Car DRIVEN on the Cruise

Oldest Hot Rod, Street Rod or Classic Car DRIVEN on the Cruise

Club Participation Award – Most members from a car club

Farthest Traveled to Attend Cruise

Youngest Driver on the Cruise

Oldest Driver on the Cruise

We have other awards that will be given out, however we can’t tell you EVERYTHING!  This would take the “fun” of the award.  Want to know what awards will be given, join us for the adventure!
